Obstacle Classes Description

This is a brief description of the classes. Cantering is not allowed and will be penalized according to ADS rules, (except, see below **).  For a full description of class and scoring, see the 2008 ADS Handbook, Pleasure Driving Competitions, Obstacle Driving.  Available on-line at http://www.americandrivingsociety.org/forms/ADS_Forms.htm .

Obstacles set at 8’3” will be adjusted down for VSE.

Reverse Psychology- Timed competition through 10 sets of cones.  Drive through in order, reverse around a marker and drive the course in reverse.

Timed Cones – Fastest time over a numbered course of 15-20 sets of cones.

Scurry -  Fastest time over a set of unnumbered cones, not more than 10 sets, each to be driven once.

Gambler’s Choice – Driven over an unnumbered course of obstacles, each with a point value, in a specific time.   Most points accumulated within the time frames wins.

**However, for fun or schooling, and to compare times at other gaits, you may re-drive obstacle class courses a 2nd (or multiple) time, at any gait, for a $5.00 fee each, if no 1st round entry is waiting, and for no placing/ribbon, as time allows.
